SGT Bonvillain enlisted in the Army because of family tradition and a personal commitment to serve his country. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and was assigned to Iraq as a Stryker driver and radio officer for his first tour. In his second tour he served as a Bradley Section Commander. He would drive his Stryker through towns looking for suspicious activity and protect the area from attacks. His most difficult experience was witnessing a car bomb exploding and pulling his deceased commander from the truck. In spite of the challenges, SGT Bonvillain states he has no regrets, is proud of his service, and is a stronger and better person because he served his country.
